 Welcome to Wilsthorpe Community School

Wilsthorpe is an 11 to 18 comprehensive maintained by Derbyshire Local Authority. The school is situated on the outskirts of the town of Long Eaton and has an intake that covers the full ability range from potential ‘Oxbridge’ candidates to students with serious learning difficulties.

We have an excellent and growing reputation in the local area, and we are one of the best performing schools in Derbyshire, having achieved the highest percentage of students getting five or more higher grade GCSEs for two years running (2010 and 2011). We were named in the top 100 'most improved schools' in the country in the same years, and one of the top 10% of schools for “outstanding continuous improvement” by the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust in 2012.
