The consultation period on Wilsthorpe’s proposed academisation with the Two Counties Trust closed on Friday July 13th.
The governors met to consider the feedback on July Thursday July 19th. At that meeting, the governors voted to academise and to sign the Funding Agreement.
I want you all to be aware that this was not a decision taken lightly, firstly to academise, and secondly to make the choice of the Two Counties Trust. It was acknowledged at the meeting, however, that the ethos of Two Counties is in harmony with our own and we have every confidence and trust that we are doing the best to secure a successful future for our school community.
During the course of the consultation, we have held a parental consultation evening with both the NAS/UWT representative and the CEO of the Two Counties Trust. We have involved the staff throughout the consultation process, and taken their views into account.
I would like to thank all of those parents and staff who responded to the consultation; all of the comments and emails received were shared with the Governing Body as part of the consultation process. Discussion at the Parents’ consultation was lively and vigorous. We are confident that the process has been robust.
We have considered all feedback and we made the strategic decision which we believe to be best for the future of Wilsthorpe School. You have our assurance as a Governing Body that we do believe our future is best secured as part of the Two Counties Trust.
You can also be assured that we will continue to maintain detailed communications with you all as we move forward to the next stage and further developments. We are currently conducting a TUPE process, with a target date for conversion being November 1st 2018.
I am confident we can now move forward as a whole community into the next stage of our continuing achievement as a highly successful school, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your ongoing support.
